"DeFeiner Star" Wins It All at Dressage at
Devon 2010!!
(full brother to Drum Roll Please
and maternal 1/2 brother to Sinsational Fox)
Excerpt from article below:
The 2010 Dressage at Devon Breed Show is one
of the largest breed shows in North America, and this year it was the
Oldenburgs who stood out. The 4 year old stallion, De Feiner Star, was the
Born in the USA Grand Champion, Reserve Mature Horse Champion, Stallion
Champion, Winner of the 4 & 5 Year Old Stallion and Gelding Materiale,
Winner of the 4 Year Old USEF test (Sat.), and the Winner of the Great
American/USDF Breeder's Championship for Stallions! Amazingly enough, one
of the few horses he was second to was the Oldenburg mare, Marmara, who
won the GOV class after having won the 3 Year Old Fillies class and was
the Reserve Champion of the Fillies division. The other divisions won by
Oldenburgs were the 5 & 6 Year Old Suitability to Be a Dressage Horse, the
4 & 5 Year Old Material class, the 5 Year Old FEI Test (Sat.), and the 6
Year Old FEI Test (Sat.). There were also many others that were highly
placed with excellent scores.
De Feiner Star is owned by Greg
Strait and Melinda Brown of California, has been trained and ridden by
Christopher Schruefer, and was presented in hand by Michael Bragdell. De
Feiner Star is sired by High Point Hanoverian's stallion, De Laurentis (De
Niro x Chippy (Caprimond)). Meg Sherman of Equistar Farm in Delaware
bought De Feiner Star's dam, Feiner Dance, from the late Angela Barilar of
High Point Hanoverians when the mare was in foal with De Feiner Star and
Meg not only delivered the colt, but helped to get him started before
selling him to Greg and Melinda.
Feiner Dance (Feiner Stern x Maya (Riverman)) owned by Meg, was also
presented at the Dressage at Devon Breed Show, and did very well placing
3rd in the 4 Year Old and Older Broodmares class, 5th in the Great
American/USDF Breeder's Championships for Mares, and 4th in the Oldenburg
GOV class.
Two of her other Oldenburg offspring,
Sinsational Fox (Sinatra Song) and Drum Roll Please (De Laurentis),
already made their mark at Devon in May at the Hunter Breeding Devon Show.
Sinsational Fox won the Yearlings Class and Drum Roll Please also did very
well and is currently leading the 2 year old Hunter Breeding Division for
the nation. Both geldings were bred by Meg Sherman and were presented by
their trainer, Emily Belin. Amy Trout owns Drum Roll Please who was named
a Stallion Prospect by the Oldenburg inspection committee when he was a
colt. Sinsational Fox is owned by Marcia Heylin.
